- After finishing two-thirds of the book I set it aside. Patricia Gaffney is a talented author but I just couldn't get into this one. My favorite in the Wyckerley trilogy is To Have & To Hold, which I loved from the first page! Sebastian is a deliciously wicked hero who has no idea or intention of loving anyone. Great tension! I wish Forever and Ever might have had some of the sizzle that THTH had. Ms. Gaffney's writing is very intelligent and unusual-I look forward to more books! (A.C., 4-8-97)
FOREVER & EVER was a compelling read for me. As the final
chapter in Gaffney's Wycherley trilogy I was sad there were no more
books to read. This book was different in the sense that
here were two characters that were very similar in temperment
(strong-willed and prideful) who fall in love and very
nearly destroy each other. Gaffney developed Sophie and Con
so well it was obvious they would have to endure as much heartache
as happiness. It was also lovely to read about
all the others characters in previous books, (but this book
is just as good as a stand alone story as well). The ending
was a bit too neat and tidy, but on the whole this books was
wonderful reading. (K.G., 3-13-97)
This book starts out well and then muddles up a bit, but even if it is not as fine as TO LOVE & TO CHERISH, it's still quite good compared to most other historicals I've read this year (1996). (E.P., 1-2-97)
