Reader comments:
I've read 4 of Jo Beverly's linked Regencies (The Stolen Bride, Emily and the Dark Angel, The Fortune Hunter, and this one), and this was by far the best. Very well integrated and worked out plot, characters I cared about. (And for a book to get a rating above 4, it'd need to be by Heyer, pretty much!) (R.R.H., 9-24-96) Not one of Beverley's most memorable efforts, though I really like title. (E.P., 5-19-96) I really thoroughly enjoyed this book. (P.C., 4-26-96) I had not heard of this book, but was looking for books by Jo Beverley after reading the Malloren series, and decided to try it. It was the best! The characters were strong, intelligent, and honorable. This is one of my top 10! (M.P., 4-10-96) The character development and dialogue in this novel is wonderful. All of Jo Beverley's novels are "keepers"! (D. C., 10-3-95) I enjoyed reading this book immensely. The dialogue and tension between the hero and the heroine was humorous. (G.J.L., 7-5-95)
