- Who is counseling Ms. Putney to a) recycle b)reuse c)reduce? Do it under another nom de plume. Mary Jo Putney has some major-ly enjoyable stuff. This is getting into the realm of garbage. (P.L., 4-3-98)
Among my favourite 10 romances ever (and I read about three a week). Hope for more like this from MJP! (H.S., 5-24-97)
Lucien is my favorite "Fallen Angels" hero. I loved the way the story got in his head. And the stepback cover! (H.F., 4-7-97)
The best. (V.Y., 3-31-97)
The best of the fallen angel series. I couldn't put it down. (B.B., 2-11-97)
I absolutely loved this book. I adore Lucien. I think he's so far one of the best heroes I've ever read. Besides, I liked his nickname. ;) (T.M., 1-19-97)
As with all of the fallen angels books, I loved this one. The s&m was a little strong, and after reading reviews I was afraid it would be put in a positive light. I was relieved it was the "bad guys" involved in it. As with all of this series, this one's a keeper. (S.P., 7-22-96)
What a fun read! My favorite in the Fallen Angel series. (L.M., 6-6-96)
Has a few good scenes between hero and heroine, but overall has much to much S&M stuff for my tastes. Putney has some very GOOD books; it's sad that here she resorts to sick-o melodrama handled in a rather silly way. (E.P., 5-21-96)
I picked up this book thinking it was by another author, when I read it I HAD to go get the other Fallen Angel series, and I am soooo glad that I did, they are Great! Now, you're making MJP sound like a freak of nature with the S&M issue of this book. It is fitting and not that I'm into that stuff, it was very informative and gave you alot of insight of the people who are. I recommend all the Fallen Angel series books. (K.S., 5-15-96)
The heroine's many reincarnations were intriguing. The sex-group based on the Hellfire club and the rather contemporary-sounding sex costumes of black and red leather seemed a bit overdone. (C.D., 2-19-96)
I think that this may be one of the best of the Fallen Angel series to date. I loved the heroine, and the inventive stories that she kept telling, and Lucien is by far the most intriguing of the fallen angels. (M.A., 1-10-96) This disappointed me, as I really loved Putney's earlier work. The wierd S&M scenes and they spy-adventure stuff just seems to be getting pretty silly to me. She used to write such emotionally gripping books, but now she seems to have shifted focus from romance and is concentrating on annoying adventure. (D.A., 8-24-95) This book was fast paced and full of fun. The constant yarns spun by the heroine kept both the hero and me guessing. The S&M scenes may be too intense for some. (K.P., 8-18-95) The s&m sex was heavy handed, and not particularly original. Seemed unnecessary in the book, when the main female character was actually quite interesting. (L.F., 7-1-95)
