Reader comments:
I am impressed with Shirly Hailstock's very descriptive writing and the novel is magnificant! (M.M., 1-7-98) I LOVED this book SOOOOOOOOOO much. I will tell everyone of my friends to read it and all of my family members. (C.C., 2-22-97) I bought this book for the cover -- so attractive! The story wasn't bad, either. (C.M.K., 11-2-96) I am the author of this book. I enjoyed writing a historical that did not have in feet ground in the Civil War. Clara and Luke were two people who loved each other, but had to overcome a problem before they could fully commit. What I learned while researching Montana, the westward movement and baseball only enhanced my image of Black's and their contribution to the American West. (S.H., 8-16-96) Excellent novel with alot of unexpected twist. I truly enjoyed this one. (R.T., 8-1-96) I enjoyed reading the book. I am an analyst, and these books are a great escape. (C.H., 5-6-96)
