- OK romantic-suspense quickie. The plot held my interest, and the heroine was a reasonably well fleshed-out character--more so than in many other Roberts books I've read. However, I do agree with N.R. that Ed is not a very romantic figure. Also, having read more than one Roberts book with this setting, it becomes apparent to me that the author doesn't know (and/or doesn't want to know) much about the real Washington, DC--its demographics, its real-estate values, etc., etc. Neverthelss, she does manage to slip in some subliminal political "spin"--I haven't seen that in a Roberts book before and would be perfectly happy not to see it again! (E.P., 3-27-97)
I love her romantic-suspense, but her plot in this is a bit old, overused. (Y.P.F., 8-24-96)
This is the sequel, or part 2, to Sacred Sins. They are about two police detectives who are partners who are sooo cool and funny the way they play off each other. Very good murder mysteries in both books.I happen to like Sacred Sins more cause Ben sounds sexier than Ed. The stories of how two cool detectives find their lady loves are great-- another good Nora Roberts twosome. Also, her two new books under the name J.D. Robb are great love stories/mysteries. (N.R., 5-23-96)
First Roberts' book I ever read. Good suspense. (D.C., 5-20-96)
