Reader comments:
absolutely wonderful. One of my favorites of noras. Best of the trilogy. Rogan was so staid. And yet so HOT!!!! (C.C., 3-19-98) absolutely wonderful. One of my favorites of noras. Best of the trilogy. Rogan was so staid. And yet so HOT!!!! (C.C., 3-19-98) I LOVED THE THE BOOK, A FRIEND OF MINE RECOMENDED THE SERIES AND I AM REALLY GLAD SHE DID KEEP THEM COMING!!!! (J.Y., 1-19-98) One of the best books I've read in a while. I've had it for about a month and thought I really won't be that interested in it. Brother was I wrong!! The characters of Maggie and Rogan leap off the page . They are a wonderful match these two. I am now reading Born in Ice and will pick up Born in Shame tomorrow. So far I am pleased that Ms. Roberts kept the characters of Maggie and Rogan in this second one. So many other sequels often mention the characters you love and never bring them back as an intrigal part of the story. I'm really enjoying it. Thank you Ms. Roberts!!! (T.K.M., 5-23-97) I loved this book. Maggie really appealed to me. I have re read it a couple of times now and it still good two or three times down the track. Nora Roberts really builds characters that are believable as well as someone you can relate to. (C.C., 4-16-97) I didn't love this book for its accurate (or innaccurate) portrayals of Ireland, I loved it for the great characters, the real-life conflicts. Nora Roberts creates very compelling, complex characters. Born in Fire was so engrossing I couldn't put it down. I'm just starting on Born in Ice and I can't wait to continue the story line. (J.S., 2-25-97) God, everyone loves this book, don't they? Well, they probably don't live in Ireland. The cliches in this book are sickening. I read excerpts to my friends here in Belfast and they physically cringed! This book really does nothing but pander to the twiddly-dee image of the Irish so cherished by Irish-Americans. Blech. (J.R., 2-16-97) I always liked Nora Roberts' novels, but for some reason I resisted reading this one for awhile. I'm so glad that I finally read it. It was great!! (K.S., 1-16-97) By far the best of her books! Maggie has the best personality and Rogan was the perfect match. A job well done. (C.G., 11-10-96) As always, she is the greatest contemporary romance writer. And those J.D. Robb books are fantastic! I always look forward to every book she writes. (S.S., 8-1-96) I loved everything about Nora's Irish trilogy, but especially the heroes! I've been recommending these books to everyone, even people who aren't fans of romance novels. My *father* enjoyed them!! (J.S., 6-28-96) Roberts should spend more time on her books; they are often very sketchy. In this trilogy she does pretty well, for an American, at capturing Irish conversational style, but her Kiss Me I'm Irish attitude is somewhat annoying--every positive stereotype about the Irish is thrown in--mystical, musical, etc. etc.--all too cute for words. Get real! (E.P., 5-19-96) Born in Fire was the best book out of the trilogy which was also very good by the way. I just ordered her latest one, Montana Sky. I enjoy Nora Roberts's novels and always watch out for any new ones. (S.D.N., 5-14-96) Job well done. I love the trilogy. (R.R., 5-13-96) I thoroughly enjoyed this book. (P.C., 4-12-96) Would love to read more about these sisters--I felt like they were family! (S.B., 4-9-96) Couldn't wait till the sequels and recommended them to my 3 daughters. My youngest is very fussy but she loved them too. (D.E.B., 4-4-96) What can I say ? Brilliant as always. An author which delivers an outstanding tale. Late nights have become a regularity when reading a N.B. book ! try reading until 2 / 3 am and then getting up at 5.OOAM - but i'm a masochist ! - more - please ! its worth it. (G.G., 3-25-96) Nora Roberts is one of my favourite authors, and this book didn't disappoint. (T.G., 3-6-96) Nora has that rare ability to create a world peopled with characters so rich, so carefully drawn, so unforgettable that you regret when the story is finally over. This series of books got better and better with each book. I was deeply, emotionally touched by Born in Shame, the last in the trilogy. Kudos to Nora -- with hope for a return to Ireland. (L.O., 3-4-96) Tension between Rogan and Maggie is so well depicted that I was completely drawn in. Nora Roberts writes beautifully. (L.G., 3-2-96) This book was FANTASTIC!! I am of Irish heritage and enjoyed that the setting is in Ireland. I plan on looking for more books written by Nora Roberts! I also read Born In Fire and Born In Shame. They were just as wonderful. (B.C., 2-24-96) not only was born in fire an excellent triology, Ms Roberts sparked a desire to visit Ireland! (M.A., 2-14-96) A+++++++++++++++++++ (P.S., 2-6-96) Born in Fire was great, Born in Ice was better and Born in Shame had me in tears in the lunch room. An avid romance reader highly recommends this trilogy. (L.S., 1-15-96) nora roberts great as usual (J.F., 12-30-95) Nora Roberts is one of the few authors that I feel safe with. She puts out great books and gets them out often. I just finished Born in Shame a few days ago and enjoyed it as well. I like how she throws in the mysticism (sp?) of the recurring dream. However, I have to say that I definitely liked Maggie of Born in Fire the best. The glassblowing was cool! (T.S., 12-22-95) Beautifully written. Nice to have a heroine who makes the first move for a change! (J.S., 12-20-95) This new trilogy is a departure from her other contemporary novels. Although the Irish background is interesting, I didn't enjoy these books as much as True Betrayals which is definitely my favorite Nora Roberts novel. (R.I., 12-8-95) Nora Roberts doesn't disappoint. Her characters are interesting and the book is worth a read. (K.K., 11-27-95) Characterizations are Ms. Roberts strong point. A marvelous job with Maggie and her mother, as well as Brianna and Rogan. And as always, I learned a new bit of history, this time about glassblowing! (A.D., 11-16-95) First book in the series of 3. Can't wait for the last book to come out - supposedly sometime in January. (S.B., 11-7-95) An interesting book, definitely worth the time and worth a re-read. (M.B., 10-28-95) I really liked this book. It held my interest all the way through. This first book in a series of three was the better one so far....I did not like Born in Ice nearly as well. (M.K., 10-9-95) I love Nora Roberts! She's a great writer that makes you feel like all the characters are real. I love series too so this makes it even better. Maggie was my idol and Rogan was my dream. A true love story! (K.J., 9-18-95) Excellent trilogy. Am eagerly awaiting third book Born in Shame. (M.C., 9-1-95) Thoroughly enjoyed the book, as I usually do with Nora Roberts, but really found the descriptions of the glassblowing art form very interesting and informative. (A.N., 8-11-95) Nora Roberts is one of the best. I never hesitate to buy one of her books. The heroines are never sappy, and the heroes are just that -- heroes! You can count on great love scenes, snappy dialogue, and a page-turner of a plot. Don't buy a Nora Roberts if you have something major to accomplish! (L.O., 8-7-95) I'm waiting for Born in Ice, it was great. (N.O., 6-22-95) Nora Roberts writes a great book. She never disappoints me. I look forward to each new book. She can't write fast enough. (B.S.W., 6-20-95) Nora Roberts always has great characterizations. (J.T., 5-20-95). Nora Roberts never disappoints me. (N.H., 5-19-95) I always enjoy N. Robert's books. I like spin-off type stories also. (K.R., 5-16-95).
