- Arnette Lamb's book are simply THE BEST!!! (K.H., 5-20-98)
I read Border Lord first and was excited about Border Bride being about
Duncan's son Malcolm Kerr. I had a feeling Alpin MacKay would be
involved from reading about her in the Border Lord. I just feel like
the ending of this story was done all wrong. All through the story
Malcolm talked about having childern, and when Alpin became pregnant
the story should of ended with Malcolm holding his son, not seeing
the prince running for his life and starting a different story line.
(m.g. 5-8-98). (M.G., 5-8-98)
I also enjoy the way Ms. Lamb continued the family stories. Jude Devereaux and Bertrice Small are also favorites
of mine. I like the continuety because you really get to know the characters after reading the first book, then get
to look forward to the next and the next to really see the characters fully developed. I particulary like stories set in medieval thru
elizabethan england & scotland!
I can't wait for Ms. Lambs next book! (P.S., 3-3-98)
LOVED IT!!! One of the best I've read. (A.L.O., 6-2-97)
The first book of this author (came highly recommended) I read. Was disappointed. Characters seemed niave, inconsistant and unrealistic. Hated the subplot about the romance between the black servants. Found it rediculous. Maybe will try another of her books later. They can only get better. (A.D., 12-27-96)
This was a wonderful book, with lots of humor. One I will keep among my other treasured books. (C.G., 6-3-96)
My mom loved it! (A.J.D., 5-10-96)
I love the way Arnette Lamb and Jude Devereaux continue the stories of families. You are never left wondering what happened after the book is over! (R.B., 12-26-95) Excellent! I love the side romance of the couple of color!! Arnette's humor is wonderful! (P.H., 11-24-95)
Wasn't sure I liked the heroine, she was a bit frigid, and the hero was a bit naive about things. (L.P., 11-10-95)
My first Lamb's book, love it. The black maid is the icy on a cake. Have read her others, not as enjoyable as this one. (A.S., 11-6-95)
A very enjoyable read. Definitely one of my keepers to be read again. (M.B., 10-28-95) Not the best Arnette Lamb I've ever read but certainly a very good one. (E.S.R., 8-17-95) Fantastic. Still my favorite Arnette Lamb! (S.L.F., 6-29-95)
