Reader comments:
Stella is one of my favorite authors! Many authors in the romance genre tend toward insipid, rather two dimensional characters, but Stella always delivers fascinating characters and delightfully wicked situations - I hated to see this series end! (M.A., 2-20-98) It was OK but it could have been better (N.M., 4-12-97) BELOVED continues the Rossmara family series and is a sequel, of sorts, to BRIDE by Stella Cameron. Having read BRIDE, I still had a bit of trouble following the details mentioned about Ella's background as well as Saber's involvement with her. This was rathering irritating because their history together was important. The romance really takes a backseat to Saber's post-truamatic stress disorder and the stalking of Ella by a slimey, villianous father & son combo. To make matters worse the main characters were overshadowed by Saber's trusty servant and Ella's rather gruff and manipulative grandmother. Several really unbelievable turns in the story (the grandmother demanding Saber move in with Ella and choose her husband? I don't think so.) further hampered the story, IMO. Bottom line - read BRIDE, skip BELOVED. (K.G., 1-10-97)
