I agree with the current rating. Pretty pedestrian for Joan Wolf, but enjoyable nonetheless. (R.S., 12-31-96) Though not Wolf's best Regency--that's probably HER LORDSHIP'S MISTRESS or A LONDON SEASON--Wolf is a consistently readable author, even when turning to a routine plot like this one.
