- This book was great! I can't seem to get Gray out of my mind, especially the bathroom scene. Hot, veeery hot. (S.O., 4-8-98)
Better than most romance novelists could do. But I have come to expect so much more of ms. Howard (C.C., 3-19-98)
Better than most romance novelists could do. But I have come to expect so much more of ms. Howard (C.C., 3-19-98)
This was a great book. I have had it for about 2 months and have already read it 3 times. I just love the connection that is always between Gray and Faith. (S.W., 2-21-98)
A very emotional book. I wept... (1., 2-8-98)
I read this book in one night. I loved the storyline, the characters and the sex scenes. The one in the bathroom really got to me. I also loved the fact that big, sexy, powerful Gray was afraid of hair clippers and not afraid to tell Faith. It made him so very human. And Faith was not
one of those simpering southern belles but a no nonsense business woman who was ready to go toe-to-toe with Gray to prove it. The only thing I missed was an epilogue. I'd liked to have known how the two were fairing say 1 year after their marriage. Other than that this book will go into my
permenant collection to reread again and again. (L.M., 5-29-97)
This book had it all, murder, suspense, great characters, and a
really believable conflict between two strong characters, humour,
and just incredible sex scenes. Kept me up all night. This
book made me a Howard fan; now I'm hunting for her out of print
books. (L.G., 3-17-97)
My first Linda Howard book, normally I'm an Historical Romance Reader
but the blurb on the back cover intrigued me..wow, bought it on Friday
Night finished Saturday, true though not politically correct after all
Gray is a little too dark, and dangerous, but Faith has more than enough
'90's spunk to stand up to him. The story line between the handsome son of a prominent family
and the girl from the wrong side of the tracks makes for fireworks and drama
to make it a real page turner... and the sexual tension between them, goodness, I kept having to get up
an ice-cold glass of water!! Great book, great read !! (S.R., 3-6-97)
I thoutht the book was very interesting and I enjoyed reading it I
hope to read more of her books. (S.R., 3-5-97)
Her best. Of course others are great too. But this one I love. (C.J.M., 2-22-97)
After having read 155 historicals, I was swayed towards this book. (I bought it by mistake). However, it is an incredibly credible book. It is well written and the characters are poignant. Bravo Linda Howard. I hope we'll read more and more like this one. I actually feel sated when I read this books (both times in the space of two weeks...) (I.M., 2-11-97)
For me, this book had such well-crafted sexual tension that its plot and character failings were rendered insignificant. Even though the rich son-of-the-South hero and white-trash heroine were stock characters, even though it seemed odd that there was no police investigation when the rich, influential father disappeared without taking his money, and even though the truth about what really happened began to seem obvious on about page 40, the sensual buildup in this book was so strong that I found myself quite engrossed, staying up late to finish the thing. It was the first book I read by Linda Howard, but I now plan to try others. (E.P., 2-9-97)
I adored this book and found that Shades of Twilight was even better! I am an avid fan and have for the last four years searching every old book store for her books I anxiously await her reissues and new books in the future (F.F., 1-20-97)
WHAT CAN I SAY? I LOVE THIS BOOK AND ANY OTHER ONES THAT SHE HAS PUT OUT. I REREAD THIS BOOK SO MANY TIMES THAT I ALMOST KNOW IT BY HEART. I'M NOT LYING, YOU CAN ASK MY ROOMMATES! (H.R., 1-15-97)
I read this in one setting! I'm definitely a Linda Howard fan - this didn't disappoint. (D.P., 1-11-97)
I thought the hero was magnificent. He was a strong, viril, compassionate man. There was a great stroy line, but also a lot of tension between the hero and heroine. (S.S., 1-3-97)
After The Night was my first Linda Howard book, but it won't be my last.
She's one of the best. The book was hot and intriguing. I couldn't put
it down. I actually finished the book in one sitting. The mystery of
disapearing father caught my attention and the I hate you/love you chemistry
between the the main characters wouldn't let me put the book down. (R.E., 12-27-96)
Definitely a great romantic suspense, but Dream Man and Shades of Twighlight are just as good if not better. I await her long contempories with great anticipation. (G.A., 12-8-96)
it sizzled!!! (P.T., 12-4-96)
HOT HOT HOT! Linda Howard's best book yet, and that is saying alot!! (L.M., 11-18-96)
The scene in the bathroom of the courthouse was one of the funniest and sexy I've ever read.
I tell all my customers about this book and "Dream Man". (C.R., 11-7-96)
Gray was awesome! Goodness, talk testosterones. I'm waiting for Linda Howard's next novel...hope it's a 5 or better! (R.L., 11-5-96)
This was a great book, I thoroughly enjoyed. Great scenes! (P.S., 10-31-96)
I love her work as Jayne Ann Krentz [actually, Linda Howard is *not* Krentz -- ed.] and I had to read this one. It is wonderful. I love the main characters!! I plan to read more by her as soon as I can get my hands on them.PLEASE bring these characters back in a sequel!! They have so much passion and are the great love of each one's life. Did anyone else picture Alec Baldwin as Gray? He was in my head as I read it. (T.M., 10-28-96)
Linda Howard is one of my favorites. She's a keeper. I have yet to read a bad book that she wrote (L.K., 10-28-96)
Linda Howard is one of my favorite authors and this book exceeded her high standards. (M.D., 10-28-96)
Linda Howard is one of my favorite authors and this was another great book. It made me cry, laugh and at the end sigh.... (D.N., 10-27-96)
Linda Howard is among the best of the best, and this is her at the top of her form. I love the fact that she's not afraid to write about extremes - and she's skillful enough to pull it off. (K.K., 10-15-96)
One of her best!!! (P.L., 10-11-96)
I thought it was a great book. Sometimes it's a relief to read a book were the hero is the dark and dangerous type. Also, I think she had an excellent and presented the characters and the sexual tension extremely well. (K.M., 10-10-96)
This is definitely a "keeper." I have read most of Ms. Howard's
novels and enjoyed each one, but this one and Dream Man were definitely
hot. In fact I do not loan these books out. Go buy your own. (L.P., 10-4-96)
I like the plot. Very fresh. One of Ms Howard's best works. (Y.P.F., 8-24-96)
I LOVED THIS BOOK AND THE ONE BEFORE IT "DREAM MAN" I HAVE "SHADES OF
TWILIGHT" IN HARDBACK. I HOPE "AFTER THE NIGHT" AND "DREAM MAN" GET
PUBLISHED IN HARDBACK ALSO. THEY DESERVE TO BE. LINDA HOWARD, JULIE
GARWOOD AND JAYNE ANN KRENTZ ARE MY FAVORITE AUTHORS. I'VE READ AND
RE-READ ALL OF THEIR BOOKS THAT I COULD GET MY HANDS ON. THEY ARE ALL
KEEPERS. (E.L.F., 8-24-96)
Of all the Linda Howard books I've read, this one is the best!!! Once I started reading it, I could not put in down. (S.D.P., 8-20-96)
