"What the heck?"

[Photo: May '95] Here's my attempt at a blog. Everyone else seems to be having fun, so I thought I would give it a whirl. Remember, the whole idea behind a blog is to wallow in self-indulgence. Luckily, I have a lot of experience with that particular endeavour .

If you'd like to make comments about anything in my blog or you want to tell me you hate it, or you love it, or just to chat - email me here until I learn CGI and create a guestbook.

Ok, so it's been a while. So sue me!
For me it's a big struggle to be positive everyday. That's not a secret. I try. I really, really try. Every single stinking day. But world events lately have been making it very, very difficult to keep up the facade. It's ridiculous. Wars, genocide, cultural and religious intolerance, extremism, Mariah Carey making a comeback, etc... We're going to destroy ourselves before we even get the chance to completely destroy the environment. If people aren't careful, I might start writing poetry again. And we don't want that to happen! The Vogons have nothing on me.
More crazy dreams last night. I've been having dreams of living in a utopian future society that always turns out to be less than utopian. I wonder what those mean.
Man, I don't care what kind of shape Madonna's in, she's starting to creep me out! I'm starting to think there's a portrait of her somewhere that's actually looking pretty darned good.

I don't make 'resolutions' per se anymore, I'm MUCH too old for that crap, but I do think of all the potential of a new year stretched out before me and what I'd like to change in my life;
More exercise.
More knitting.
More reading.
More keeping in touch with old friends.
Better parenting.
Better food.
More writing.

Not really 'rules' so much as general guidlines.
