Materials
Setup
-
Hunt staff members assigned to each location, two roaming
-
Rita on radio to answer radioed questions
Timing
-
5 minutes introduction and team assignment
-
40 minutes scavenging
-
15 minutes review
-
Timing worked perfectly
-
Mixing experience levels worked well, both to ensure success
of teams and to get volunteers introduced to each other
-
Having to use radio worked well
-
Fire extinguisher question served as inspection (discovered
several overdue for servicing)
-
Didn't have enough time for team assignment, should just
have asked for hands in categories (e.g., 0-2 years, 2-5 years, etc.) then
picked off mix
-
Should have held teams back after forming and had them look
over the map before setting off
-
Didn't need "ordering" rule; it actually caused
more backup than it solved
-
Should have made sure to have master list of questions for
review
-
Should have acknowledged planners as conclusion of review
rather than at intro
