Listen to an hour-long preview of the HomeGrown Festival that aired on WCBN.

The HomeGrown Festival will take place 5:00-10:00pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Ann Arbor Farmers’ Market (315 Detroit St.).

Chefs will be working with local farmers to create a variety of tasting portions of wonderful foods that they will offer for sale (see list of restaurant vendors below).

In addition to the food, there will also be a number of FREE concurrent activities including tentatively Project Grow’s incredible Tom ato Taste-Off, a full plate of Chef Demos showing how easy and appealing it is t o cook with local ingredients, engaging Kids’ Activities, a tasty Music Li ne-up, and informative local non-profits’ booths. Finally, there will tent atively be a local store of local merchants.

All proceeds from the HomeGrown Festival go toward making this a defining ann ual event for our community.
