Prior to teaching at the University of Michigan, I studied finance at the University of Chicago. Before graduate school, I attended Brigham Young University. For more information about my background, you can see my Vita.

When I am not working, I hang around with my family. As you can see, I have four children ranging in age from one to thirteen years. They require a lot of attention.

Outside of work, family, and church acitivities, I enjoy backpacking and mountain climbing. I've posted some of my favorite climbing and backpacking pictures on another page.
