EMP is a leading-edge, nonprofit
museum, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary
popular culture. With its roots in rock 'n' roll, EMP serves as a
gateway museum, reaching multigenerational audiences through its
collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, using interactive
technologies to engage and empower visitors. At EMP, artists, audiences
and ideas converge, bringing understanding, interpretation, and
scholarship to the popular culture of our time.
Register online for the reception using the
IADR Meeting Registration for the 2013 Annual
Meeting. Limited to the first 400 registrations.
Tickets may be purchased at the door
based on remaining availability for planned size of reception. Heavy hors
d'ourves, beer, wine, and soft drinks will be served.
EMP is located at 325 5th Avenue N. at Seattle Center and is most
easily accessible by the historic Seattle Center Monorail, built in
1962 for the Seattle World’s Fair. Taxi fares are approximately $10
each way. A pay to park lot is also available on the north end of
the building.
The Seattle Center Monorail
connects Westlake Center (located 2.5 blocks from the Convention
Center, downtown at 5th and Pine), to the Seattle Center terminal
adjacent to EMP. Visit the Seattle Monorail website for detailed
information on schedules and rates (www.seattlemonorail.com/).
