Description: Systemic conditions and diseases, medications, dietary pattern etc. can affect the salivary function especially the unstimulated salivary flow rate.  Due to a decrease in salivary buffering capacity, increased demineralization and decreased remineralization potential, tooth surface loss can occur. Various causes and treatment methods to prevent tooth surface loss will be discussed.
