Collagen Cross-Linking: Modeling Dentin Matrix for Reparative Purposes

Thursday, March 22, 2012: 12:15 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Session Type: Lunch and Learning
1.25 CE hours

Sponsored by: Dental Materials
Description: Collagen cross-linking agents offer many benefits to dental hard tissue such as increased biomechanical properties, reduced biodegradation rates and remineralization by mineral nucleation. Natural and synthetics agents were identified for potential clinical application. We will discuss types of agents, mechanisms of interactions with dentin matrix components and therapies.
Learning Objectives:
Clinical application of collagen cross-linking agents in reparative/restorative dentistry
dentify different types of collagen cross-linking agents and their mechanism of interactions with dentin matrix
