Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the color and optical properties of the newly developed resin composite system, Estelite Omega, compared to various resin composites.

Materials and Methods: Specimens (7mm diameter, 3mm thickness) of Estelite Omega (EO, Tokuyama dental), Estelite Sigma Quick (EQ, Tokuyama dental), Filtek Supreme XTE (SX, 3M ESPE), Premise (PR, Kerr), EsthetX-HD (EH, Dentsply), and Empress Direct (ED, Ivoclar Vivadent) with dentin shades of A1, A2 and A3 were cured according to the manufacturer's recommendation (Optilux LCT, Kerr). Lightness (L*) and chroma (C*) were measured by the color analyzer (TC-1800MKII, Tokyo-densyoku) with CIE L*a*b* system on black background. Total transmittance (20mm diameter, 0.5mm thickness) was measured by the haze-meter (NDH-2000, Nippon-densyoku).

Results: L* and C*, and total transmittance values were summarized in the table.

Conclusions: Total transmittance of EO decreased with increasing chroma, while L* remained constant relative to the other resin composites.
