BHA NEWSLETTER--AUGUST, 1995.

TRY AGAIN!!
NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT OUT
THEME:
GIVE NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME AND DRUGS A GOING AWAY PARTY

Date: Friday, September 8, 1995
Time: 6 p.m. until dark
Place: Bromley Park

Each year Neighborhood Watch encouages neighborhoods across the
nation to say
good-bye to crime by holding a neighborhood event on a day designated
nationwide as
"National Neighborhood Night Out." The "national" night out was rained
out this
year--let's hope for better weather an reschedule the event for September
8! The
Ann Arbor Police Department's Neighborhood Watch program participates
actively in
support of this idea; the nationwide theme this year is "give
neighborhood crime and
drugs a going away party." The idea is that communities that know each
other, and
that can band together in constructive effort (such as having an evening
celebration in
the park), are safer communities. Come join us in Bromley Park for an
All-Bromley
neighborhood night out.
Hot dogs will be provided; please also consider bringing a dish to
pass. To get a
somewhat balanced distribution, we propose the following strategy.

Bromley Homeowners Association--Hot dogs and rolls.
Aurora--desserts
Briarcliff--appetizers
Burlington St. & Ct.--salads
Nixon--desserts
Prairie--salads
Renfrew--beverages
Sheffield Ct.--hot dog condiments (ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, or
whatever)

LETTERS
Some residents of Bromley have noted that the shrubbery at Plymouth
and Prairie
has been removed; they have expressed concern that some sort of buffer
replace the
removed plants. In response to this concern, BHA has written a letter to
the owner of
the building. If your household is interested in this issue, please feel
free to contact
BHA.
