BROMLEY HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION--MEETING
The next meeting of the Bromley Homeowners Association will be at
7:30 p.m. on Thursday,
February 9, 1995, in the Library of Thurston School. This is an open
meeting to which the public is
welcome; the guest speaker will be Adele Akouri, Coordinator of the
Neighborhood Watch program for
the Police Department of the City of Ann Arbor. Ms. Akouri will discuss
issues concerning security and
there should be ample time for constructive discussion. We hope to see
you there--come meet
Neighborhood Watch people! At the same meeting, we will also discuss
issues of interest within
Bromley and conduct elections to BHA--please come and participate.

NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE DAY
BY MARY ANN GASIOREK
I would like to organize another Bromley Neighborhood Garage Sale
Day. If you are new to the
neighborhood, previous Garage Sale Days have been very successful. I
will place one large ad in the
Ann Arbor News and have signs at all the neighborhood corners. With this
kind of publicity, you can
have a full-scale garage sale or just put out a few things in your driveway.
The Bromley Neighborhood Garage Sale Day will be Saturday, May 13,
1995, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m.
You will run your own garage sale and keep all profits. The Bromley
Homeowners Association will
pay for the ad in the newspaper. Signs will be put up at every entrance
to our neighborhood. You will
need to put a sign in front of your house on May 13 to indicate you are
having a Garage Sale. A map
with all participating address will be distributed before May 13.
If you would like to participate, please call Mary Ann Gasiorek at
996-4633 with your name and
address.

BROMLEY HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION DIRECTORY: BROMLEY GRANTS
Volunteers are needed to solicit advertising from local merchants
for the annual BHA directory; the
funds raised as a result of this effort are used to produce the directory
itself and to create "Bromley
Grants" for projects of various sorts within Bromley.

THURSTON GROCERY GIFT CERTIFICATE FUND RAISER
BY SHARI MCCONNELL
The Kroger Company and Busch's Valu-Land currently offer non-profit
organizations the
opportunity to use their gift certificate programs to earn money. The
Thurston P.T.O. buys the gift
certificates at a 5% discount and offers them for purchase at full
value. This is an easy fund raiser for
our neighborhood elementary school and is not difficult to support. Gift
certificates are available in
denominations of $10, $20, $25, and $50 and may be purchased at P.T.O.
meetings, special programs, at
the school outside the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday before and
after school or by phoning
Lee Harkaway at 761-8229 or Diane Hoffman at 665-6944. Many of your
neighbors are purchasing their
groceries weekly with these certificates. Won't you help your
neighborhood school, too, and write your
grocery check to Thurston P.T.O.?

A NOTE OF THANKS
BY SALLY VANDEVEN.
On Saturday, December 17th a group of volunteers met at Dolfin Pool
and spent the better part of
the day (in the rain) repairing a badly damaged section of the poolhouse
roof. It was feared that this
particular portion of the roof would not hold up through the winter and
had to be rebuilt and reshingled.
About half the roof is still in need of reshingling, which will hopefully
be tackled in the spring.
A sincere "Thank you" to: Alfonso Bonilla, Ken Crawford, Charels
Heldsinger, Howard Parker,
Dave Thurston, and Cosmas Vandeven.

DOLFINS POOL
Ideas for fundraising, and people to implement them, are needed
during the slack season at the pool.
Remember, Dolfins is a valuable neighborhood resource. The BHA has
strongly supported Dolfins and
continues to do so. We send our best wishes to the newly-elected board
and look forward to continuing
the strong ties between BHA and Dolfins.
