Bromley Homeowners Association--meetings.

Next meeting of the Bromley Homeowners Association:
       Thursday, December 3, 1992, 7:30 p.m., Thurston School Library.
Guest speakers:
Officer Kolpacki of the Ann Arbor Police Department, and possibly
others from that
Department as well, will come and talk to us about the idea of Community
Policing. Part of the
idea is for neighborhood involvement, so come and get involved!!
Mr. Larry Sanford, Assistant Superintendant, Water Treatment Plant,
will talk to us about City
water.

Please come--bring questions, too! We are fortunate to have these guests
come to meet with
us; we hope to have a good turnout for them.
Please watch future Newsletters for accurate dates for the spring
and summer 1993 meetings
of the Bromley Homeowners Association.
     Please remember to pay your Bromley Homeowners Association dues;
they support the
Newsletter. Send checks, made out to the Bromley Homeowners
Association. The amount is

Dolfins Pool--Elections in January

Please consider running for the Pool Board. Time and place for the
meeting to elect Board
members will be announced in the January BHA Newsletter. Dolfins Pool is
the pool in Bromley;
please support it at the minimal level by contributing your fair share of
tax money ($30 per
household per year), or at a greater level by joining it for swimming
privileges (membership rates
competitive with other local pools). We need the pool and the pool needs
you!

Traffic

The Mayor has asked that Traffic Engineers take another look at our
area. This response was a
result of a BHA letter; it is a brief memorandum from Brater to Gatta.
The actual text follows:
"The Bromley residents are experiencing an increase in traffic and
related accidents in the
area of Nixon/Huron Parkway, as described in the attached letter from
Sandra Arlinghaus.
Could you please have the Traffic Engineers take another look at
this area to see if, indeed,
there is an increase in accidents."
Bromley residents might wish to be alert to any changes at this
intersection. BHA is also
interested in noting other nearby plans that may have impact upon traffic
volume on Nixon Road
and Huron Parkway.

Neighborhood Watch Block Captains
by Jo-Ann Socha

In an effort to have a more unified and safer Bromley neighborhood,
we need to know which
blocks have captains and which don't.
We are asking that all block captains call either Sandra Arlinghaus
(761-1231) or Jo-Ann
Socha (663-3766).
If a specified block does not have a captain and you are interested,
please call.

"Notification of Proposed Development.

An application for a proposed development has been submitted to the
Planning Department for

Parke-Davis Rezoning and Area Plan--A request to rezone a 10.61 acre

this proposal."

A copy of the map sent to Sandy is reproduced on the last page of the
Newsletter. We will
discuss this issue at our December 3 meeting. A call to City Hall
elicited some information;
apparently Wendy Rampson is the planner in charge of this issue. A staff
report is currently
being prepared and should be available by 3:00 p.m. in City Hall,
Planning Department, on
Friday, December 4.

Spring flowers in Bromley Park
by Shari McConnell

Thanks to the efforts of some Junior and Brownie Girl Scouts, there
will be an extra splash of
color in Bromley Park next Spring. On a particularly cold and snowy
November Saturday, Junior
Troop 85 members Erin Bretkovich, Anna Brosius, Jennifer Jones, Megan
Kilbourn, Vicki
Throckmorton, Noor El-Gewely, and Isabella Cederquist were joined by
Laura McConnell and
Margaret Throckmorton of Brownie Troop 38 in planting springtime color.
The girls planted
crocus, daffodil, and tulip bulbs in the ground at the base of the
Bromley Park sign. Bulbs were
purchased by Marti Throckmorton with money provided by the Bromley Homeowners
Association. Marti who is the leader of Troop 85 joined the girls in
their planting efforts to
provide us all with what will be a very welcome spring flower garden.
Many thanks to all
involved with this project.
