Richard Seed
Richard Seed from Switzerland is my father's father's dad. He came to America from a town close to what is now Lucerne. I have no date of birth for him, nor do I know what year he came to America in. I was able to get a vague reason for why he came to America from Switzerland from my Grandmom...an interesting one. My Great-Grandpa Richard was kicked out of his country! She would not tell me why, just said, that she didn't want to talk about it, even when I pressed her. A mystery! I will have to work on my Grandma because I would love to hear the story!
Richard was a deputy sheriff in Philadelphia who was interested in politics and sports. I know that Richard met Margaret McKeown, his wife, in Philadelphia. Margaret was born in Philly and was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She loved to cook. Both died in October of 1966.
