This is an aerial view of the project site in 1947, with parcel and street information overlaid. Note that a pond existed in West Park and that open space existed on the interior of the city blocks between Murray and Third Streets as well as between Murray and Mulholland Streets. The block between Murray and Third Street appears somewhat weathered or beaten, and was possibly used as an informal parking area at this time.
