Displayed below are the neighborhoods that surround our Area 'B' elementary schools.  This particular map tracks the income levels of each neighborhood.  Neighborhoods in red have over ¾’s of their  residents living under the poverty level.  Neighborhoods in yellow  have between ½ and ¾’s of  their residents living under the poverty level.  Neighborhoods in green have between ¼ and ½ of their residents living below the poverty level.  Neighborhoods in blue  have less than ¼ of their residents below the poverty level.

Results:

2% of the block groups we studied had over 3/4's of their residents living under the poverty leve.  These were scattered about Area 'B'.  15% of the block groups had between 1/2 and 3/4's of their residents living under the poverty level. 50% of the block groups had between 1/4 and 1/2 of their residents living below the poverty level.  These sets of block groups were clustered nearer to inner city Detroit.  The remaining 33% of block groups were situated closer to the Dearborn border.
