An autonomous self-replicating unit that may constitute an organism or be a sub-unit of multicellular organisms in which individual cells may be more or less specialised for particular functions. All living organisms are composed of one or more cells.
|Nucleus||This is the control center of the cell.|
|Mitocondria||This is the powerhouse of the cell, where energy is produced.|
|Endoplasmic Reticulum||This transports proteins from the nucleus.|
|Golgi Apparatus||This produces and packages protein.|
|Ribosomes||Ribosomes are sites of protein production.|
|Lysosomes||Lysomes are membrane-bound vesicles that are involved in intracellular digestion.|
|Vesicles & Vacules||Vesicles & Vacules are membrane-bound sacs involved in the transport and storage of materials.|
|Microbodies||Microbodies are membrane-bound organelles specialized as containers for metabolic reactions.|
|Cell Membrane||This surrounds the cell.|
|Cytoplasm||This is the packaging of the cell.|
