PHILOSOPHY

The realm of science provides individuals with an understanding of our fascinating world. This world involves learning about the laws of nature. The comprehension and practical application of scientific concepts and knowledge strengthens student's mental faculties and allows them to become critical thinkers. The discipline of science allows students to grasp complex theories and analyze information in a clear and concise way.

In our society, it is critical to possess analytical and technological skills in order to function. A strong background in science will develop these skills and increase opportunities to gain employment. Many occupations require numerous years of science education and training. Schooling in this field provides students with the capacity to be successful in our dynamic world.

A good science teacher needs to have an understanding of the practical world as well as being trained and educated in his/her field. An instructor's education should provide him/her with the skills and methods that enable him/her to teach effectively. A skillful teacher possesses the ability to relate concepts to practical applications, capture attention, evoke questions, and stimulate self-learning. This is accomplished by preparing creative lesson plans to motivate and inspire students to become active learners. The creative lesson plans would include POE demonstrations, use of analogies to understand scientific concepts, and devise fictional scenarios to stimulate students curiosity.

Adequate preparation is the key to a successful lesson plan. The process of creating and planning should be as enjoyable as teaching. The lesson plan should make it clear to the students what is expected of them and how they are to accomplish these goals. The plan should also be flexible enough so the students can provide input concerning their objectives and allow the students to actively participate in the process of science. This process requires students to create their own hypothesis, design their own experiments, gather and analyze their own data and present their conclusions in a clear concise way. Then the students and the larger audience will take part in evaluating their tasks and their project.

MISSION

To charge up students interest and curiosity in the realm of science by developing a creative curriculum that will motivate and inspire students to become active learners.
