Interdisciplinary education will help us address global issues such as sustainability. Community gardening is one way people are addressing sustainability issues. PEAS farm, University of Montana Environmental Sciences program in partnership with Garden City Harvest.

Teaching

Education advances society, uplifts communities, and fosters individual growth and development. It is a particularly useful tool for developing resources within communities of color and other underprivileged groups. As a teacher, I have many goals and every student is equally important. However, my passion for teaching comes from the belief that diversity in education and in particular, diversity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), is vitally important to our society and our understanding of the world. Promoting diversity in the classroom, interdisciplinary approaches, accessibility of knowledge and application, and creative and critical independent thinking are the frameworks of my teaching philosophy
