Family
I have a wife and two beautiful little girls, Lindsey & Mackenzie. Lindsey is a rising 9th grader at Saline High School; she likes playing many sports, reading, and is a great student. Mackenzie is a rising 7th grader at Saline Middle School; she likes many forms of dance but is especially interested in tap. She is also a good student. My wife, Nancy, while she isn’t taking care of the girls, is a serious synchronized swimmer and likes to work on her golf as well.
Sports
- Fastpitch
- My family has gotten into fastpitch in a big way. Specifically, we are part of the Ann Arbor Gold Fastpitch organization. In 2003-04 I was head coach of my oldest daughter's fast pitch softball team, the Ann Arbor Gold 10U. Our record for the season was 20-18; we started the year 3-8 but ended on an 11-4 streak. In 2004-05, I coached her 12u team. This team ended the year with a 17-18 record. In 2005-06, I coached her 12u team again. We finished with a 23-18 record and won one tournament, came in 2nd in two others, and were semi-finalists in two others. This year I am an assistant coach on her 14u team.
- Volleyball
- I go to most of UM's home games with my family. I also joined an adult league for the first time and went to a camp to attempt to gain some actual skills. During the school year I play every Wednesday and Friday nights in Saline.
- Golf
- This is probably the sport at which I am most gifted. I only play a couple of times a year but I usually shoot somewhere between 75 and 83. I recently was fortunate enough to play The Merit Club outside of Chicago; it was easily the nicest, most beautiful, and most challenging course I have ever played.
- Hockey
- I learned to play hockey in 1999, and my wife and I had UM season tickets from 1998 until 2004.
- Tennis
- Before I injured my thumb I used to play tennis a couple of times per week. I played at USTA 4.0.
