About Ruth Li

I am a Ph.D. student in English and Education at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I teach in the English Department Writing Program and have served as a research assistant with the Sweetland Center for Writing. Before joining the Ph.D program, I taught high school English for three years at public charter schools in Utah and Florida.

My research investigates college students' writing development. More broadly, I am interested in composition pedagogy, corpus linguistics, metacognition in writing, and digital literacies and rhetorics. I have published articles and reviews in the Online Literacies Open Resource and the Sweetland Digital Rhetoric Collaborative. In my spare time, I enjoy writing poetry, essays, and novellas.
