INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PAPERS ONLINE Students should first have their paper placed in their IFS account. The paper should be saved as _Text Only With Line Breaks_. This is an option under the _File_ command select _Save As.._. You will then select the _Text Only with Line Breaks_ from under the _Save File as Type:_ command. You should view the document before placing it on the homepage to ensure that your formatting is correct, footnotes have transferred and there are no spelling errors. This document is going to be on the page for the world to see for a very long time. Make sure that it is work of which you are proud. The next step is to use the ITD login program to connect to a login server. At the prompt where you would normally type "pine" , do the following: frogger% cd ~rtanter/Public/html/S97PS472_Papers frogger% pico LASTNAME.FIRSTNAME.COUNTRY The pico editor will start. Use the Control-R command to _Read File_. Select control-T to view your home directory. This will list the files in your IFS account. Use the arrow keys to select the correct file and press the >Return< key. Once you have reviewed your document, you will press control-X to _Exit_. You will then be presented with the option to save your work. Press Y for yes at this time. The next screen will allow you to alter the name of the document. Please use the LASTNAME.FIRSTNAME.COUNTRY format using all capitals and no spaces. If you do not see your paper on Netscape immediately, try to Reload the homepage and then look for your document. If you are still having problems, consult an Angell Hall assistant.
