What we do: We meet weekly for in-depth reading and presentation of research papers and/or acvanced books in geometric functional analysis and related fields. We welcome faculty and graduate students who are interested in studying both classical and new techniques of these areas. Organizers: Sasha Barvinok, Anna Gilbert, Martin Strauss, and Roman Vershynin. When and where: Not meeting in Winter 2009. Texts: We will be going through the lecture notes "Concentration-of-measure inequalities" by G. Lugosi. When/if we finish with that, we will do selected chapters in the book "Additive Combinatorics" by T. Tao and V. Vu. |
