• 1986 January - 1986 December: Architect, Kahawita de Silva Associates, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Design and Drafting work for Ministry of Health Projects.
• 1993 June - 1993 August: Architectural Intern, Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), National Park Service. U.S. Dept. of the Interior. I worked on documenting the West Pennsylvania Coke & Coal industrial processes from late 19th century to early 20th century.
• 1993 December - 1997 December: Architectural Intern, Facilities Planning & Design , University of Michigan.
• 1998 July - present: Chief Architect, R. Susil Weddikkara Associates, Dehiwela, Sri Lanka (consultancy basis).

Research

• 1989 January - 1989 December: Research Assistant, Construction Industry Indicators Project, Sponsored by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka and the International Labor Organization. The project developed prices indices for Sri Lankan construction industry.
• 1991 May - 1993 May: Research Assistant, Office of Community Preservation, Louisiana State University. I conducted research on building and community preservation efforts in southern Louisiana, with a aim to providing low-cost preservation solutions through computer-aided design.

Teaching

• 1990 March - 1997 December: Lecturer, Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. I taught Environmental Science I, II & III courses for the undergraduate students in B.Sc., (Built Environment) program.
