Hi! Rahul Here :)

I am a graduate student in the Applied Physics Program at The University of Michigan. My primary research interest is AMO (Atomic, Molecular and Optical) Physics. I work under the guidance of Prof. Georg Raithel on realization of an Atom Laser . The research group I work with is a part of a NSF Frontier Center in Optical, Coherent and Ultrafast Sciences (FOCUS).

I am from Thane, which is a suburb of Mumbai, India. I did my Bachelor's in Engineering in Electronics Engineering from VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) which is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. I came to the University of Michigan in 2002 to start MS in Electrical Engineering. Right from the beginning, I started working in Prof. Raithel's lab on the Atom Laser project. In my second year, I started my Ph.D. program in Applied Physics. I completed my Electrical Engineering Master's Degree in April 2004 and am now a Candidate in the Rackham School of Graduate Studies.
