"LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN RITTER"


    In the name of the Benevolent Father of all, I John Ritter of the
    County of Ashland, State of Ohio do make and publish this my last
    will and testament.

    Item 1st, At my decease my whole Estate Shall be divided into ten
    Equal Shares Except one Share which Shall be fifty dollars less
    than the other nine which fractional Share I give and devise to
    William Knepp, Son of my Daughter Elizabeth, the other nine Shares
    I give and devise as follows, to my Sons John, Jacob, Henry, Dewault,
    Frederick and Philip and to my Daughters Barbary and Margaret Each
    one Share and to the heirs of my son George Deceased one Share.

    Item 2nd, I do hereby nominate and appoint Jacob Fast Executor of
    this my last will and testament hereby authorizing and empowering him
    to compromise, adjust, release, and discharge, in Such manner as he
    may deem proper, the debts and claims due me.

    I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.  In testimony hereof,
    I have here unto set my hand and Seal this 10th day of April in the
    year 1861.
