Konehead/Ed V. Grey Motor w/perminent Mags (25 May 2002)

This is my Kone Head motor with perminant (super) magnets added on posts (magnetic bridges). As Kone Head said, this does greatly increase the motor mechanical output power and slightly decreases the input power for a given operting voltage.

This is a close up of the motor with the magnets. I found that using a set of magnets in attraction to the polarity of the rotor greatly increases the power of the motor (the magnets inbeaded in the wood) I found the adding a second set (my Return magnets) between the main magnets on the electro magnet (but slichtly offset from the plane of rotation of the rotor i.e. less interaction with rotor) also increases the ouput power slightly (for free!).

Here is a close up of the perminent magnetic (bridge) and the electo-magnet.

This is an o-scope shot showing the duty cycles of the motor. The top shows just 'phase A' of the motor, but the bottom shows both due to the way I had to hook the probes to the circuit.

This is the circuit I'm presently using to run the motor. The two phases feed back electricity to each other. It is not self running (yet) but I am working on experiment to improve the efficiency. (more experiment to come)!
