Project Summary

There are several on-going projects that are related to studying the demand and impact of learning HIV results in Malawi. In 2004, approximately 2,800 individuals were tested for HIV in Rumphi, Balaka, and Mchinji Malawi in coordination with the University of Pennsylvania panel study, MDICP. During the time of testing, individuals were randomly offered financial incentives to learn their HIV results approximately 2 months later. In addition, the location of the results centers were randomly placed within the villages.
