Washtenaw County - Amateur Radio Public Service Corps (WC - ARPSC) - Coordinates amateur radio public service and emergency communications for Washtenaw County. An umbrella organization of amateur radio operators working with local government and other groups for radio communications during an emergency, a large public event, or times of severe weather. To provide branding and name recognition, RACES, ARES and Skywarn are the official capacities in which they work.

Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) - Created by the FCC in the 50's to provide local and state governments with a communications system during the cold war. Amateur Radio operators who volunteer for RACES activations must first complete a FEMA independent study course.

Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) - Developed by American Radio Relay League. ARES provides licensed operators for various safety and emergency functions across the country.  Agencies that ARES serve include local Emergency Management, American Red Cross, and others who need communications resources during a crisis or large public event.

Skywarn - A volunteer partnership established by the National Weather Service and advanced by local emergency managers across the nation that utilizes FCC licensed amateur radio operators.

Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN) -Providing the Amateur Radio Community with a solution for supporting the needs of high speed data in the Amateur Radio and Emergency Communications field using software releases for use on commercial-off-the-shelf devices with a primary focus on meeting the needs of emergency communications data networks.
