Cognitive Consequence of Sleep Disturbance
Seeking individuals who are currently feeling, sad, depressed or down, and individuals with no history of mental illness, to participate in a study investigating how individuals process emotional information. Participation involves an interview, sleeping in laboratory, physiological measures and computer testing. Participants will be compensated up to $350. Decision Making Study
Seeking individuals over the age of 18 with no history of neurological or psychiatric disorders, and no history of head injury causing unconsciousness, who are willing to complete two 30 min sessions, spaced 12 hours apart (one between 8-9 am, the other between 8-9 pm). The study includes questionnaires and a computer task. Participants will be paid $10 per hour. For more information, email decisionmaking@umich.edu.
Simultaneous EEG/fMRI data acquisition
Seeking individuals: older than 18, native English speaker, right-handed, non-claustrophobic, no metal on body (e.g. braces, pacemaker, permanent make-up, tattoo etc.). This is the study to test the reliability of recording EEG data inside the fMRI scanner. Our study participants will be asked to do simple tasks, 2 sessions outside the scanner room and 2 sessions inside the scanner. Each task takes 7 min. Time spent inside the scanner will be no longer than 45 min. Participants will be paid 15$ per hour. Including the prep time, the whole study takes about 2~2.5 hours.
