GENERAL NEEDS

We need to build a strong basic collection of comics and comics-related books including the following sorts of material:

Complete sets of works by individual artists.

examples:
a complete set of Hergé (TinTin)
a complete set of George Herriman (Krazy Kat)
a complete set of Ariel Schrag (Potential)
a complete set of Joe Sacco (The Fixer, etc)
a complete set of Sam Henderson....

No matter how known or how little-known the artist, we need their books.

If you don't have complete sets, we will gladly accept single titles.

ARTISTS: Please consider donating a complete set of your work (to date) to the University of Michigan. We want students to see the span of an artist's work over time, and without donations from artists like yourself, this would not be possible.

• Complete sets of seminal multi-issue titles.

examples:
a complete set of ZAP! Comics
a complete set of Weirdo
a complete set of Wimmen's Comix
a complete set of Art and Beauty
a complete set of Little Lulu or Richie Rich or Little Dot etc etc

a complete set of Lancio's KISS

• "Essential" books of all periods and genres.
Suggestions and donations of multiple or single titles are welcomed.

Research titles
These are sorely needed (a "history" of underground comix or manga, for example)
