David B is a comic artist who was born in France. He created a publishing business titled L'Association, which publishes a lot of French comic artists including himself. A lot of his work is produced to reflect his life, his feelings and his dreams (or nightmares). His use of pure black and white only enhances his very detailed works. His characters, which in the book Epileptic 1 are based on his family. The story is about his family's battle with his brother's epilepsy. The story is paralleled by great battles in history. The allusions he makes are very vivid and descriptive of the wars.

In Epileptic 1 the viewer gets a good view into David's life as a child. He describes his family's obsessive eating habits, health habits and the associations that people made of his brother and violence. The war scenes that David draws are so detailed and involved I as a viewer thought of it as an obsessive quality. The viewer gets a good idea of the problems he was facing at a child at that time in war torn countries. Many of his other books or stories deal with the dreams that he has, and the imagery that he sees while he sleeps. Most of these images are very dark scary pictures.
