creating a blog on blogger.com
and posting it to your personal space on the umich servers.

FIRST:

Open the application "FUGU." If it is already on your computer, it should be pre-configured
so that you can upload files to your personal space on the server.*
If not...
-When the program opens, enter "sftp.ifs.umich.edu"
in the "Connect to:" field.
-Enter your unique name in the "Username" field.

Click "Connect." (you may be prompted to enter your Kerebos password)

You will see a window with a bunch of folders.
-Double-click "Public."
-When that folder opens, double-click "html."
(This folder will probably be empty unless you've uploaded
other files previously.)
-Click "New Folder" in the menu bar.
-Enter the name "blogger" (no quotation marks) for the directory name.
-Make sure that "New Directory Will Be Created Remotely"
is selected, and click "Create."
-Now, double-click your "blogger" folder. You will add three folders to it
in the same manner. Name them as follows:
-archives
-images
-sitefeed

(do not create these three folders one inside the other-
they should all be at the same level within the blogger folder)

*your "connect to" field MAY say "sftp.ifs.umich.edu," "sftp.afs.umich.edu," or "sftp.itd.umich.edu." All are fine.

HOW TO USE "BLOG THIS!"

This feature is very useful when you are doing research on the web. It allows you to post
to your blog from wherever you are on the web just by clicking a link on your browser.
