COOPERATIVE LICENSING/ACCESS PROGRAMS

10.1
CIC/ERO Process

A major initiative of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) is the cooperative acquisition of electronic resources. Each CIC institution has designated an Electronic Resources Officer (ERO) who is responsible for managing the institution's participation in licensing and acquisitions agreements. The ERO works with selectors, subject specialists, and fund managers to evaluate resources available through CIC and also to initiate proposals for the cooperative acquisition of resources. At UM, the ERO is the Assistant Director for Digital Library Initiatives.

Appendix 10 outlines the guidelines developed by CIC for the collaborative acquisition of electronic information resources.
