At the end of this page will further links to various tidbits of info that we've found scouring the world physically and virtually. This will be an effort to share what we have learned, and most location specific tidbits will either be from the greater Chicago area or greater Ann Arbor area. We are not benefitting by listing any of these vendors, but though that we ought to do something with all of this information that we've collected.
We know that we will be having an organist during the ceremony, hopefully a harpist during an hor d'eurves hour, and a DJ during the reception. There should be a surprise entrance of the Bride and Groom into the reception... and we know that we will be dancing to "Groovy Kind of Love" by Phil Collins.
Stacey Simms is going to be our DJ from The Road Side Service professional wedding disk jockeys. (A very professional and well-priced outfit, I might add!)
We will be married at 5:00pm on April 4th at the First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor. Our officient will be Reverand Ruppert Lovely, a Unitarian minister who is graciously agreed to come to Ann Arbor for the celebration!
The reception will be held 3 blocks away from the church at a University of Michigan building called the Michigan League. From 6-7:00pm there will be hors d'ourves on the second floor (in "the concourse"), we will enter the reception at 7:00pm in the ballroom and then dinner will be served at 7:30pm.
I can't speak about the food (other than it will be chicken), decorations, the dress, or the favors as we would like them to be a welcome surprise to our guests. (No - We're not leaving this info out because we don't know it yet... we just want it to be unique and original.) I can tell you that guests will be seeing a lot of teal and purple. If you have any questions, concerns, or dietary needs, please feel free to email us!)
A gentleman named Howard Kaplan will be providing our phography. We will not be having a videographer.
Although our wedding itself will appear rather traditional and formal, there are a lot of personalizations that have been made. For example, we have 2 "Maids of Honor" and a female "Best Man." While the women will be wearing Butterick pattern #4393 in teal sattin, the men will be wearing black tuxedos with teal bow-ties and vests.
As most guests will be visiting from out of town, we have blocked off rooms at 3 separate locations.
For anyone who is interested in renting a car, I have 15% off coupons. We will eventually have maps and other info in time.
