Details Tracheostomy (tracheotomy) tube. Two silver curved, slightly conical cannulas, one fitting closely inside the other; external tube has double colloar, outer collar a rounded rectangle with half-circular fenestrations at bot ends and a wire loop on each side of central aperture; outer collar is loosely connected to inner collar via wire loops. Inner collar has two oppositely located projecting fingers which fit through wire loops on outer collar and a pin with a rotating flange; internal tube has circular collar at wider end with curved wire loop andles and is held in place by rotating glange on external tube collar. Outer tube has oblong fenestration with rounded ends midway along outer edge of curve. Inner tube has 3/16" od.

Cylindrical bone cutting instrument has hollow nickel-plated brass shaft with spool-shaped turning near proximal end; cylindrical proximal end fits into aperture in t-handle, where it fixed in place in the square-crsoss-sectioned center section of the handle by a pin protruding from the end of one removable cylindrical bulbous-ended wing of the handle. Bayonet has triangular point and is adjusted with thumb screw. 2.4 cm deep blade.

Description 1 trocar (1 trocar with attached handle, 1 cannula with attached scoop): steel, nickel-plated brass, wood, tin?; 13.5 cm x 0.3175 cm dia.
Details Trocar. Non-removable 7.4 cm x 1/8" dia. straight cylindrical steel shaft terminates in a triangular point; proximal end of shaft fixed in cylindrical wooden handle with bulbous proximal end by nickel-plated brass ferrule; 6.2 cm cannula is tin(?), leaves point exposed at distal end, and terminates at proximal end with 2.6 cm scoop.
Local variation: Truax notes (p. 209) that "the better class of these instruments is equipped with a metallic cap." If such a cap was originally supplied, it is now missing.
