"Universal" brand model E9937 625w electric heater

This radiant or 'bowl' heater was manufactured. by Landers, Frary, & Clark, a major maker of household goods (especially cutlery and electrical appliances) based in New Britain, Connecticut till 1965, when it was sold to GE. This model (E9937) appears in the wholesale Catalog no. 30 (1929?) issued by Union Hardware of Los Angeles, shown here:

On that basis, we might date this example to ca. 1930.

The heater uses a standard replacable screw-base heating element, similar to those used in other 'bowl' heaters. The stamped-steel base and shell have a bronze finish and a vaguely art-deco look to them; and the bowl itself is 'coppered' (copper-plated and polished). Asking prices for comparable items on eBay (often in worse condition) seem to range from $99 to $189. This example seems to be in good working condition.
