The Peaches

by Joel Oppenheimer

when your belly
is swoln. when your belly is full.
when there is a child.
never in this situation
words like peaches
to bite into. savor.
peel the skin
with your teeth.
bit of a peach. sweet.
flavor. filling myself
on your extension.
I will talk to you about this.
let us eat a peach after supper.
