Quantum Mechanics II Phys 512

Welcome to the Quantum Mechanics II home page. This page will be updated as necessary throughout the semester. From time to time, I will post files on the Public subdirectory of my ITD directory. To transfer files use a file transfer protocol and go into your ITD home directory. Then change directory to ~pberman which will put you in the public space of my ITD directory where the files will be stored.

Office hours are Thursday, 2-3 and Wednesday, 3-4. You can stop by my office (4227 Randall) at any time if you have some questions. There is a user group for the course – qmech2003@umich.edu that can be used to share information with the class. I will try to add everyone to the group. If you are not a member of the group, enter your ITD account, go to dua, and add yourself to the group (you can check to see if you are a member by typing memberships uniquename). You are also encouraged to set up smaller users groups for discussing course material.

The required text for the course is Merzbacher, Quantum Mechanics, 3^rd edition. A recommended, but not required text is Sakuri, Modern Quantum Mechanics. There is also a course pack that is available at Ulrich’s.
