In this capacity, he photographed a number of architectural monuments including the Buddhist temples surrounding Yogyakarta, Indonesia and the early Renaissance architecture in Florence, Siena and Pisa, Italy. Young also photographed the private collection of Baron Thyssen-Bornemesza in Lugano, Switzerland, and in museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Nelson-Atkins Gallery in Kansas City, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Detroit Institute of Art, and the Uffizi, Academia, and Pallazo Pitti in Florence, Italy. His photography of fine art has been published in numerous books, catalogues, journals, and magazines. He has also given workshops in Florence, Italy, and St. Andrews, Scotland, and taught classes at the Ann Arbor Art Association, Washtenaw Community College and Western Michigan University.

Patrick’s own fine art photographs and paintings have been shown in local galleries and in juried national exhibitions. The Silver Image Gallery in Seattle, the Carson/Shapiro Gallery in Denver, and the Pierce Street Gallery in Birmingham, MI have represented his work.
