The Twin Peaks CYOA

An Introduction

On Hiatus

Remember how much it sucked when Twin Peaks kept getting put on hiatus? Since I haven't touched the CYOA in years, I figure it's best to put it on hiatus, too.

I know there are a lot of unresolved plot lines, and I do have several ideas rolling around in my head, but I can't guarantee if/when I'll be able to put them in writing. You can still sign up for the notify list or check out the latest chapter if you'd like.

Welcome to the Twin Peaks CYOA!

Some time ago, I and a few people I had met online began writing a Twin Peaks-based fanfic along the lines of a Choose Your Own Adventure, or CYOA. Each person took the role of a character and wrote for them. Some characters were continued from the series; many more were created just for the CYOA. The version of the CYOA that will follow is the most up-to-date as of the date above; because it's a work in progress, new episodes are added every once in a while. Please note that this work may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen the show, don't bother going any further. I'd hate to ruin it for you.
The story takes place in Philadelphia in December 1996 (it seemed so far off when we began!). Laura is married with a child and working for the FBI. So why is she alive when the whole point of Twin Peaks was her murder? The answer, in rot13: OBO jnf sbbyrq vagb xvyyvat Znqql engure guna Ynhen. Using your built-in suspension-of-disbelief mechanism, assume that everything that led up to Laura's death as well as everything after, more or less, did happen--the only difference being the actual identity of the victim.
If there are any other questions concerning the background of the story, please E-mail me and I'll do my best to answer them.

The CYOA contributors, in alphabetical order by their screen names:

  • Carlotta
  • JArgent
  • MikeLOGtp
  • Misirlou

Their respective episodes are marked with their screen names as well, giving credit where it's due. Episodes not signed are written by me.

The CYOA is rated PG-13 (but it's getting kind of R-ish).

An alternate format (Adobe Acrobat) of the CYOA, accurate through Chapter 70, is available for download here. This 324K file will be updated with every tenth chapter.

Thanks for your time and your interest! We hope you enjoy the Twin Peaks CYOA.
