| I am originally from the Philippines and obtained my Bachelor's degree from the University of the Philippines and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of Iowa. It was at Iowa that I met and married Robert Earl Springer, another graduate student. Immediately upon graduation from the University of Iowa we returned to the Philippines where we taught for 5 years (four years at the University of the Philippines) before returning to the United States. |  |
